Overview Join our dynamic team as a Commercial Driver's License A Local Driver and take charge of delivering freight efficiently and safely within local routes. This role offers an exciting opportunity to operate a variety of commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers, intermodal containers , ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards. Duties Safely operate commercial trucks with manual transmission across local routes, ensuring compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. All our loads drop and hook , managing logistics cargo handling efficiently while maintaining safety standards. Navigate using GPS systems to optimize delivery routes and meet tight schedules for route driving assignments. Transport various types of freight including hazardous materials (hazmat), dangerous goods, refrigerated items, flatbed loads, and tanker shipments with precision and care. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure truck safety, including checking for hazardous conditions or damage. Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and reports in accordance with FMCSA regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams to coordinate deliveries and resolve any route or cargo issues promptly. Skills Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a valid CDL (Commercial Driver's License) Class A license for local driving routes. Strong knowledge of truck loading and unloading procedures, including freight handling for various cargo types such as refrigerated goods, flatbeds, tankers, and hazardous materials. Familiarity with GPS navigation systems for efficient route planning. Ability to operate manual transmission trucks safely and confidently over the road (OTR) routes within local areas. Understanding of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols related to commercial trucking. Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record; experience in delivery driving preferred.
