Operator Location:
Southern Utah — travel throughout the state may be required
Employment Type:
Full-time, seasonal, or contract opportunities available
Equipment:
2005 International 7600 6x4 manual-transmission straight truck with 3,000-gallon hydroseeder tank Position Summary We are seeking a reliable, safety-focused CDL Driver to transport, operate, and support a 3,000-gallon hydroseeder truck on projects throughout Utah. This is a hands-on field position—not a drive-and-drop role. The truck will remain on the job site until the work is complete, and the driver will actively assist the crew with hydroseeding operations, material loading, cleanup, and general site support. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, dependable, comfortable operating a manual transmission, willing to travel, and committed to putting safety first at all times. Key Responsibilities Safely operate a 2005 International 7600 6x4 manual-transmission straight truck equipped with a 3,000-gallon hydroseeder tank. Drive the hydroseeder truck to project locations throughout Utah, following all traffic laws, company procedures, and job-site safety requirements. Remain assigned to the job site with the truck until the hydroseeding work is complete. Operate hydroseeding equipment, including pumps, hoses, spray systems, and related controls, as directed by project needs. Assist with loading hydroseeder materials between loads, including mulch, seed, fertilizer, tackifier, and other approved materials. Help prepare mixes according to job specifications and maintain an organized, efficient loading process. Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections; report mechanical issues, safety concerns, and needed maintenance promptly. Keep the truck, hydroseeder equipment, hoses, and work area clean, secure, and in good working order. Assist with job-site setup, hose handling, cleanup, and other labor duties as needed. Work effectively with supervisors, customers, and other crew members while maintaining a professional attitude. Follow all company, customer, DOT, and job-site safety procedures. Safety is always the top priority. Required Qualifications Valid CDL appropriate for operating the assigned vehicle , with an acceptable driving record. Experience driving commercial trucks with a manual transmission required or strongly preferred. Ability and willingness to travel throughout Utah; overnight travel may be required depending on project location. Ability to work outdoors in changing weather and on varied terrain. Physically able to perform hands-on duties, including climbing in and out of the truck, handling hoses, loading materials, lifting and carrying job-related supplies, and standing for extended periods. Motivated, dependable, and able to work independently while also contributing to a crew environment. Strong attention to safety, equipment care, and job-site awareness. Ability to pass any required pre-employment screening, motor-vehicle record review, and applicable safety training. Preferred Qualifications Experience working on remote, rural, highway, commercial, residential, or construction job sites. Current DOT medical certification, where required. Contract Opportunity Independent owner-operators or contract drivers are welcome to apply. Preference may be given to contractors who can provide current commercial insurance documentation and meet all applicable licensing, safety, and project requirements. What We're Looking For We need someone who takes ownership of the truck and the work: a driver who arrives prepared, works safely, supports the crew between loads, and stays engaged until the job is finished. This role is ideal for a CDL professional who enjoys being active on the job site rather than spending the entire day behind the wheel.
