A Yard Truck Driver drives trucks within a specific, small environment such as a factory yard or a rail yard. Often requires more experience due to tight spaces. May require forklift experience.
Transportation & Operations Safely operate a 30-yard roll-off truck to deliver, remove, and dump containers. Complete assigned deliveries, pickups, and dump runs efficiently and on schedule. Safely place and remove containers while minimizing impact to customer property. Follow assigned routes and communicate delays, access issues, or schedule changes promptly. Operate company vehicles in accordance with DOT requirements, traffic laws, and company policies. Customer Service & Communication Provide professional and courteous service to customers at all times. Communicate clearly with dispatch, customers, and team members regarding schedules and service needs. Adress customer questions and concerns in a professional manner. Represent KYCO Containers positively while working at customer locations and throughout the community. Equipment Maintenance & Safety Conduct required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections. Monitor truck and roll-off equipment for maintenance or mechanical concerns. Perform basic truck and container maintenance as needed. Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned equipment. Follow all DOT regulations, company safety policies, and operating procedures. Report safety concerns, damage, or equipment issues promptly. Recordkeeping & Documentation Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, dumpster loads, and disposal activities. Complete required vehicle inspection and operational documentation. Utilize smartphone applications and company technology to manage routes and job information. Ensure paperwork and electronic records are completed. Qualifications Class B CDL required. Current DOT Medical Card with no restrictions required. Valid driver's license required. Clean driving record required. Must successfully pass Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) evaluation. Previous roll-off truck driving experience preferred. Strong understanding of safe commercial vehicle operation. Strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and manage daily routes and responsibilities. Dependable, punctual, and safety-focused. Ability to perform the physical duties associated with the position. What Success Looks Like in This Role Deliveries, pickups, and dump runs are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule. DOT regulations and company safety requirements are consistently followed. Containers are delivered and removed safely while protecting customer property. The assigned truck and equipment are properly inspected and maintained. Documentation and load records are accurate and completed on time. Customers receive professional, dependable, and courteous service. Pay:
$25.00 - $30.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
