Job Description
Overview We are seeking a skilled and reliable Dump Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in truck driving, particularly with dump trucks, and possess a strong understanding of safe driving practices and regulations. This role requires the ability to operate various types of trucks, including manual transmission vehicles, and may involve transporting materials to construction sites or other locations as needed. Responsibilities Operate dump trucks safely and efficiently for the transportation of materials. Load and unload freight, ensuring that all cargo is secured properly for transport. Navigate assigned routes while adhering to traffic laws and company policies. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of hours worked and materials transported. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered on the road. Assist with the loading process using forklifts or other equipment as necessary. Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the truck, reporting any mechanical issues promptly. Experience Proven experience as a Dump Truck Driver or in a similar commercial driving role. Familiarity with operating various types of trucks, including flatbeds, tankers, refrigerated trailers, roll-off trucks, and tractor-trailers. Experience in route driving with a strong understanding of local traffic patterns. Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles is preferred. Previous delivery driver experience is advantageous. Knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety regulations related to truck driving is essential.
