Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and dedicated pick-up/delivery driver to represent our organization through exceptional driving and customer service. As a Driver Ambassador for the Habitat for Humanity of the New River Valley, you will be the friendly face representing our mission for the community. This is a full-time or part-time position, open availability required. Responsibilities Assist with managing a pick-up and delivery schedule, including direct communications with potential donors Serve as an ambassador in the community while providing pick-up and delivery service. Communicates the mission of Habitat to customers, donors and community members as a part of conducting business. Ensures the proper handling of all materials donated to Habitat for Humanity Safely operate commercial vehicles, including box trucks, in compliance with all traffic laws and safety standards Load and unload donated materials efficiently while maintaining proper handling procedures Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety; report any issues promptly Maintain accurate logs of routes and deliveries, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements Navigate routes efficiently using GPS or maps to meet scheduled deadlines Supports the Warehouse Coordinator in reaching daily, monthly, and annual goals Model professionalism and positivity for team members, volunteers, and community service workers Communicate effectively with team members and leadership Qualifications Minimum 1 year experience driving delivery vehicles Must have a valid driver's license Must have a clean driving record Strong communication and customer service skills to interact confidently with customers, team members, and management A professional, dependable, and safety-oriented mindset Ability to stand for long periods of time Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds Ability to work in varying seasonal/weather conditions Basic mechanical knowledge for routine vehicle checks and troubleshooting (preferred) Experience using equipment such as dollies, pallet jacks or forklifts (preferred) Benefits Employee discount Paid time off Retirement plan Join our team as a Driver Ambassador and play a vital role in supporting your community.
