Job Description

Position Summary:
Under general supervision, the candidate delivers fuel in a bulk truck to customers. Additional cross training in sales & service may be offered. Job Tasks & Responsibilities May include any/or all of the following: Load the truck, drive to our customers address, size up the storage vessel, make the transfer of fuel, complete the transaction with our onboard computer, print the transaction, place the receipt in the door hanger envelop and place it in the door, mail box or bring the ticket back to be mailed. Takes note of the condition of the storage tank or cylinder, its placement, other building codes requirements and informs the office of needed repair or to have a situation addressed. Cross trains with service dept. to be able to assist during off peak times and/ or if a customer needs assistance relighting an appliance or performing leak tests. Becomes familiar with the fuel oil, diesel and gasoline truck/ delivery and tank maintenance. Conducts gas leak tests on finished systems after installations or out of gas calls. Ensures this paperwork is clear defined and gets back to the office to be posted in paper and non-paper files for future reference. Provides customers with excellent personal service and attention. Utilizes our specific software, computer, tablets, smart phones to schedule, order items, troubleshoot issues, communicate with other parties, . Assists with updating records by having all paperwork thoroughly completed by customers. During all deliveries, installations and service calls follow all governmental standards, industry guidelines, and good safety practices. Serves as liaison between our customers, delivery drivers and the office personnel. Utilize cell phone to communicate with other drivers, customers, office, co-workers. Assists in opening and/or closing of the office as needed. Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Personal Characterists:
Must be 21 and able to obtain and hold a Class B, VA commercial driver's license with Air brakes, Tanker, Haz-Mat endorsements. A background check for the Haz Mat endorsement is done and renewed periodically. Must have excellent customer service and problem solving skills. Must be willing & able to work on an "on call" rotation with other office staff for emergency service and/or delivery during nights, weekends & holidays. Work in a dynamic and fast paced work environment. Positive interpersonal skills. Possess a team-player attitude with a willingness to accept constructive criticism. Willingness to do what it takes to accomplish goals. Ability to lift 70 lbs. Ability to obtain a commercial driver's license with hazmat endorsement within 60 days of employment. Possess a self-starter mentality. Possess good decision making skills for the safety of our customers, the company & yourself.
