Overview Join our dynamic team as a Front Load Truck Driver / Roll Off Driver and become a vital part of our solid waste management operations! In this energetic role, you will operate specialized trucks designed for municipal waste collection and disposal, ensuring efficient, safe, and environmentally responsible service. Your expertise in commercial truck driving combined with a commitment to safety will drive our mission forward. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work outdoors, engage with the community, and contribute to sustainable waste solutions. Duties Safely operate front loader trucks, roll-off trucks, and rear loader trucks to collect and transport waste materials in accordance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and state transportation laws Load and unload waste containers using front-end loaders or mechanical arms, ensuring secure and proper handling of materials Drive route schedules efficiently while adhering to traffic laws, safety protocols, and municipal waste management standards Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, including checking air brakes, hydraulic systems, and mechanical components to ensure optimal operation Maintain accurate logs of daily routes, loads, fuel usage, and service reports in compliance with safety and regulatory requirements Interact professionally with customers during pickups and drop-offs, providing excellent customer service while explaining waste collection procedures when needed Follow hazardous materials regulations when handling special waste types and ensure all safety procedures are strictly followed during operations Qualifications Proven experience operating front loader trucks, roll-off trucks, or rear loader garbage trucks in a commercial or municipal setting Solid knowledge of traffic laws, DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, and state transportation rules governing commercial truck driving Mechanical knowledge for performing routine vehicle inspections and basic troubleshooting on heavy-duty trucks with manual transmissions Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with air brake endorsement required; experience with manual transmission preferred Demonstrated ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work outdoors in various weather conditions Strong understanding of solid waste management practices, safety protocols, and hazardous materials regulations when applicable Excellent driving skills with defensive driving techniques; commitment to safety protocol adherence at all times Outstanding customer service skills paired with clear communication abilities for interacting with clients and team members Embark on a rewarding career that combines active outdoor work with meaningful community impact.
