Job DescriptionThe Rear-load Driver is responsible for supporting key operations within the waste management and recycling industry. This role contributes to the organizations success through strong execution, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and a commitment to safety, service quality, and operational excellence.

Key ResponsibilitiesSafety & Vehicle OperationDemonstrate strong vehicle control, including backing, turning, and maneuvering in tight or congested environmentsComply with all applicable DOT, OSHA, and company safety policies and proceduresPerform and document pre-trip and post-trip inspections Utilize safe backing procedures, including coordination with helpers Report unsafe conditions, incidents, or equipment issues immediatelyRoute Execution & ProductivityComplete routes safely, on time, and in accordance with service and productivity expectations Maintain route pace in high-volume environments Follow route sheets and dispatcher instructions Manual Collection & Team CoordinationEnsure helpers follow safe work practices and company procedures while on routeWork closely with helpers to collect and load waste into the truck Assist with loading waste when needed Ensure safe coordination with helpers, especially during backing operations Customer Service & Site StandardsProvide courteous service to residential customers Ensure streets and collection areas are left clean and free of debris Report service issues or missed pickups Represent the company professionally at all times while in the fieldEquipment Operation & Waste HandlingOperate packer controls and loading mechanisms safely Identify and report unacceptable or hazardous waste Documentation & CommunicationComplete DVIRs, route sheets, and required documentation Maintain communication with dispatch throughout the shift Safety & Compliance ExpectationsDrivers are responsible for safe execution of their duties. The Safety Department provides training, standards, and oversight. Drivers must follow all safety procedures and actively participate in training. Minimum QualificationsValid Class A or B CDL with air brake endorsement Valid DOT medical certification Ability to perform physically demanding work Strong teamwork and communication skills Preferred Qualifications1+ year CDL experience Experience in residential or manual collection environments Physical RequirementsContinuous climbing, walking, and manual labor Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions Work Environment & ScheduleFull-time, early morning start MondayFriday with occasional Saturdays Work performed in residential neighborhood Why Join Us?
