Responsibilities Safely operate tractor-trailers and other commercial trucks on over-the-road (OTR) routes, adhering strictly to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and hazardous materials regulations when transporting dangerous goods. Navigate routes confidently using GPS navigation systems to meet delivery schedules across multiple states or regions. Deliver freight accurately and promptly to various destinations, maintaining high standards of customer service during each interaction. Comply with all FMCSA regulations regarding hours of service, driver logs, vehicle inspections, and safety protocols. Handle hazardous materials responsibly when required, following all safety procedures for dangerous goods transportation. Perform routine truck inspections and maintenance checks to ensure vehicle safety and readiness for long-haul journeys. Requirements Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with endorsements relevant to the type of vehicle operated (e.g., Hazmat endorsement if applicable). Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving and route driving across regional or OTR routes. Familiarity with dump trailers, flatbed trucks, tanker trucks, and other specialized equipment used in freight transportation. Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, FMCSA guidelines, hazardous materials regulations, and safety standards for truck driving. Ability to manually handle cargo loads safely while adhering to logistics cargo handling procedures. Excellent navigation skills utilizing GPS systems for efficient route planning and execution.
