Job Description

Partners Excavating is looking for an experienced Lowboy Truck Driver (CDL A) to join our reputable team. The Lowboy Truck Driver's primary function is to safely load, secure and transport construction equipment to be moved from one job location to another. This is a full-time position reporting to our main office in Mount Crawford, VA. Hauling area is typically within a 2 hour radius of our main location. Ideal candidates will have a passion for safe transport while being dedicated to meeting the hauling demand to keep our field operations moving. Qualifications Valid Class A CDL along with a clean driving record and current DOT medical card Must have 3 years of industry related experience in hauling heavy equipment Knowledge of FMCSA cargo securement rules and regulations, safety regulations Ability to do periodic lifting/pushing/pulling of up to 25 lbs weight; including manual dexterity to handle securement chains, straps and tie downs Strong understanding of construction site operations and safety protocols. Mechanical knowledge for basic troubleshooting of equipment issues is preferred. Ability to read, write, and accurately follow oral and written instructions High School Diploma or GED Requirements Responsibilities required of the Low Boy Truck Driver (CDL A) role include, but are not limited to, the following: Drive various truck and trailer combinations to transport construction equipment to/from assigned location(s) Safe and Efficient operation of Tractor-Trailer combination; including the use of air breaks and driving on public and private roadways This position will be switching between lowboy with trailer to deliver equipment to job site Fill-in as dump truck driver when needed Work independently and as a team to meet the hauling needs of the company Respond in a safe and timely manner pertaining to logistics needs/changes Complete pre and post trip inspections Calculate weights of equipment to stay within DOT restrictions and guidelines Report all accidents/incidents to Operations Manager Report mechanical issues to Shop Manager Attend and participate in monthly safety meetings If you are ready to drive your career forward with a company that values your skills and offers opportunities for advancement, apply today at Partners Excavating Company!
