In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating various types of commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, and tankers, to ensure timely delivery of freight across multiple routes. Your expertise in adhering to safety regulations and managing logistics cargo handling will be crucial in maintaining our high standards of service. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be a vital part of our transportation operations, delivering goods efficiently while upholding safety and compliance at all times. Responsibilities Safely operate commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers with manual transmissions, ensuring compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Navigate routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery schedules and ensure timely arrivals. Load and unload freight with proper manual handling techniques, including hazardous materials (hazmat) and dangerous goods, following hazardous materials regulations. Transport refrigerated cargo, flatbed loads, or tanker shipments across over-the-road (OTR) routes while maintaining the integrity of the freight. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, including checking for hazards related to truck loading/unloading and cargo security. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and inspection reports in compliance with FMCSA regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route adjustments, delivery statuses, or safety concerns during transportation. Requirements Proven experience in commercial truck driving, delivery driving, or freight transportation with a focus on route driving. Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with endorsements for hazardous materials (Hazmat) and tanker as required. Demonstrated ability to operate manual transmission trucks safely and efficiently. Knowledge of truck loading and unloading procedures for various cargo types including refrigerated goods, flatbeds, and hazardous materials. Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and route planning for over-the-road (OTR) driving routes. Strong understanding of FMCSA regulations, DOT regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and logistics cargo handling standards. Ability to handle manual handling tasks related to load & unload activities safely. Excellent driving record with a focus on safety and compliance in commercial driving environments.
