Greater Washington, D.C. Area Mobile Scrap Metal Buyer /
Driver Job Type:
Full-Time (35-40 hours per week) About the Position Established recycling company seeking a reliable and motivated Mobile Buyer to join our team. This position involves driving a non-CDL box truck throughout the Greater D.C. / Northern Virginia area to service industrial accounts and purchase scrap metal on-site. The right candidate should be comfortable working independently, interacting with customers, identifying different types of metals, and operating in an industrial environment. Experience in recycling, trucking, warehouse operations, equipment operation, or industrial work is preferred — but we are willing to train someone with the right attitude, work ethic, and willingness to learn. CDL drivers are also encouraged to apply. Responsibilities Drive a non-CDL box truck safely to customer locations Purchase and pick up scrap metal from industrial accounts (Training provided) Identify different grades and types of metal (Training Provided) Follow DOT and company safety procedures Provide professional and dependable customer service Assist with loading, unloading, and forklift operation when needed Perform basic daily vehicle inspections and maintain cleanliness of assigned truck Qualifications ✔ Valid driver's license with a clean driving record ✔ Ability to pass a DOT physical and pre-employment drug screening ✔ Clean background check ✔ Ability to work independently and stay organized ✔ Strong communication and customer service skills ✔ Dependable, punctual, and safety-minded ✔ Forklift, trucking, recycling, or metals experience preferred but not required ✔ Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physical work as needed Additional Information In-person position Daily travel throughout the Greater D.C. / Northern Virginia area Full-time, steady work Background check and drug screening required before employment What We Offer Competitive pay 401(k) with company match Medical, dental, and vision insurance Paid vacation, sick leave, and holidays Stable, year-round work Opportunities for growth and advancement Hands-on training in the recycling and metals industry If you are looking for a stable long-term opportunity with room to grow, we encourage you to apply.
