Job Description
ABC Auto Salvage LLC is looking for an experienced and dependable Tow Truck/ Trailer Driver to transport all vehicles from auctions, customers and other locations to our salvage yard. This role requires strong driving skills, attention to safety, and experience handling vehicles during loading and unloading. If you hold a CDL license we have job opportunities available.
Responsibilities:
- Operate a truck with trailer (car hauler) to transport vehicles safely
- Pick up vehicles from auctions, dealerships, private sellers and impound lots
- Load and unload vehicles using winches, ramps or other equipment
- Secure vehicles properly using chains, straps and tie-downs
- Inspect vehicles for damage before and after transport and report issues
- Plan and follow efficient routes while complying with height/weight restrictions
- Follow all DOT and state safety regulations
- Communicate with office regarding pickups, delays and deliveries
- Provide professional and respectful interactions with customers and auction staff
- Assist in yard operations if needed
Requirements:
- Proven experience driving with trailers (car hauler/tow truck preferred)
- Valid driver's license
- Clean driving record
- Ability to operate towing equipment
- Physically able to lift, climb and work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently
- Basic mechanical knowledge is a plus
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and road safety rules
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a salvage yard, towing company or auto transport
- Experience with auctions like Copart or IAA
