Job Description

As a Yard Jockey Driver, you'll play a key role in keeping dock and warehouse operations running smoothly. Working entirely on private company property, you'll be responsible for moving, spotting, and repositioning trailers to support efficient freight flow, staging, and daily operations.
Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 3:00 PM - 11:00 AM, with weekend overtime available based on business needs. Key Responsibilities Move and position trailers throughout the yard, including dock doors, staging areas, and trailer lots. Hook and unhook trailers safely and efficiently. Verify trailer numbers and locations using dock assignments and warehouse systems. Inspect trailers for damage, seal integrity, and safety concerns, reporting issues as needed. Monitor reefer fuel levels and support trailer readiness for operations. Maintain accurate records of trailer movements and yard inventory. Collaborate with warehouse staff, dispatch, and dock supervisors to support efficient operations. Perform routine inspections of yard equipment and report maintenance concerns promptly. Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe yard environment.
What We're Looking For:
Valid state-issued driver's license (Class C or equivalent) in good standing, CDL not required. Minimum 1 year of yard truck experience in a warehouse, distribution, or logistics environment preferred. Ability to read and interpret dock assignments, trailer manifests, and yard maps. Basic mechanical aptitude to perform inspections and identify equipment issues. Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, and rain. Strong attention to safety, communication, and teamwork.
