About Better Living, Inc. Better Living, Inc. is a trusted, family-owned supplier of high-quality building materials, millwork, and construction supplies serving Central Virginia. We take pride in delivering exceptional service, top-tier products, and reliable job site deliveries. We are seeking a dependable, safety-focused CDL Driver to join our logistics team at our Troy, VA facility. Position Overview As a CDL Driver for Better Living, you will be responsible for transporting and unloading lumber, building supplies, and manufactured components to local residential and commercial job sites. This is a local, home-daily position ideal for drivers who value consistent hours, predictable schedules, and staying active. Key Responsibilities Safely operate commercial vehicles (flatbeds, boom trucks, or Moffett) to deliver materials to customer job sites across Central Virginia. Inspect, secure, and tarp loads (when necessary) to ensure materials arrive safely and undamaged. Safely operate truck-mounted forklifts (e.g., Moffett) or boom equipment to unload building supplies on active job sites. Conduct required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections in compliance with DOT regulations. Provide professional, friendly customer service at job sites and obtain delivery receipts/signatures. Work collaboratively with yard staff and warehouse crews during loading and staging. Maintain complete and accurate delivery logs, inspection reports, and bill of lading documentation.
Qualifications & Requirements License:
Active Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
Experience:
Minimum 2 - 3 years of commercial driving experience preferred; experience with flatbed deliveries, Moffett/forklift operation, or boom trucks is a major plus.
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift up to 50-75 lbs, climb on/off trucks, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Safety First:
Strong knowledge of DOT rules, load securement regulations, and job site safety protocols.
Skills:
Excellent communication, reliability, and time-management skills.

Hourly pay based on experience, with overtime opportunities. (Starting at $24/hour)
