Overview Join our dynamic team as an OTR Box Truck Driver - 26 FT, operating under a 1099 independent contractor agreement. This role offers an exciting opportunity to deliver exceptional service while navigating the open roads and managing freight with precision. As a vital link in our logistics chain, you'll be responsible for safely transporting goods across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining excellent customer interactions. Responsibilities Safely operate a 26-foot box truck across assigned routes, adhering strictly to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and traffic laws. Load and unload cargo using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, ensuring safe lifting practices. Manage delivery schedules efficiently Provide excellent customer service by delivering goods professionally, addressing client needs politely, and obtaining signatures or proof of delivery when required. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to identify maintenance needs or safety issues. Load and secure freight properly to prevent damage during transit, utilizing manual transmission skills when applicable. Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and compliance with DOT regulations related to weight handling in the workplace. Skills Proven experience in truck driving, delivery driving, or courier roles with a focus on heavy lifting and manual handling. Strong understanding of route driving strategies, adhering to traffic regulations, and safe lifting practices. Ability to operate a box truck confidently and safely. Excellent customer service skills with a professional attitude during deliveries. Familiarity with mobile devices for route navigation, communication, and documentation purposes. Knowledge of DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations related to commercial vehicle operation and weight handling in the workplace.
