Freight Van Driver

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced driver to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, clean title (preferable), excellent customer service abilities, and a commitment to safety and maintenance. • Loading & Unloading
• : Load and unload cargo, ensuring it's secure and properly handled to prevent damage. 3.
• Documentation
• : Handle paperwork like delivery receipts, bills of lading, and other transport documents. 4.
• Vehicle Care
• : Perform basic vehicle checks (fuel, oil, tires) and report any issues to ensure the van is roadworthy. 5.
• Safety & Compliance
• : Follow traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies to minimize risks. 6.
• Communication
• : Keep in touch with dispatchers, customers, or team members about delays, issues, or delivery confirmations. 7.
• Route Management
• : Plan or follow designated routes efficiently to meet delivery timelines.

Skills Needed:

• Valid driver's license (often with a clean record)
• Good navigation and time management skills
• Physical ability to handle cargo (lifting, securing)
• Attention to detail for safety and paperwork
• Basic communication and problem-solving skills Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and maintenance needs are addressed.

Maintain cleanliness and basic maintenance of vehicles to ensure optimal operation. Follow scheduled routes and adhere to time schedules reliably. Communicate effectively with dispatch and passengers to coordinate pickups and drop-offs. Perform routine vehicle maintenance checks and report any issues promptly. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, including proper documentation for driving logs and inspections. Ability to operate safely under diverse weather conditions and manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.
