Job Description
Overview:
Columbia Trucking is a new carrier out of Troutdale, OR. We're hiring a CDL-A driver from the Portland area to run I-84 regional freight through Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Utah and Montana. Home every week. You won't be out more than 3 days at a time, and you'll take your 34 at home, usually over the weekend. Pay is salary, $90,000 to $110,000 a year, paid every week. We don't pay by the mile, so a slow week pays the same as a busy one. It's a W-2 job with medical, dental and vision, paid sick time and PTO, and we'll add safety and performance pay as we grow. You get an assigned truck. Our current drivers are in a 2022 Peterbilt 579. You would be one of the first drivers at a new carrier. Lanes are still settling as the operation scales. But, as a first driver you will be given additional opportunities to grow and expand within the operations. Day to day you'll hit your pickup and delivery windows, run your pre-trip and post-trip, keep your HOS logs in Motive, keep dispatch posted on load status and delays, take care of the truck, and stay legal with DOT and FMCSA. We're hiring on experience type, not a year count. If you've run regional or account-based freight, drop-and-hook, or doubles, you're who we're looking for. You'll need a CDL-A with the Doubles/Triples (T) endorsement, a clean MVR and a good safety record, and you'll need to pass a DOT physical and drug screen.
