Job Description

POSITION
Truck Driver
CLASSIFICATION
: Full Time Scheduled
REPORTS TO
: Operations manager and Facilities Operations Supervisor
SUPERVISES
: None
NARRATIVE
Develops and maintains relationships with warehouse, receiving personnel, and growers. Promotes the company as a service oriented company.
CDL CERTIFICATION
: Must have a class A license with doubles and air brake endorsements. Must be enrolled in a drug and alcohol testing program. Must hold a current medical card.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be eligible for coverage under company insurance policies Must have a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and be cleared to drive under company standards.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Must be licensed and qualified to safely operate all types of delivery equipment including a forklift. Must have and maintain a good driving record. Must be able to work well with customers, venders, and growers. Must maintain good public relations with growers. Has the responsibility of insuring that all material is delivered in a timely manner. Must have a working knowledge of State and Federal D.O.T. regulations concerning their job. Must accurately complete and turn in, in a timely manner, all company delivery, receiving documents and pre-trip inspection forms. Has the responsibility of safeguarding material that is being transported by properly tying and containing load. Does not leave truck unattended. Must work well with all company branch personnel. Must be clean in appearance. Will be required to wear company supplied safety vest. Must help in keeping company delivery equipment cleaned and in good operating condition. This includes carrying all necessary safety products (flares, fire extinguishers, etc.). General maintenance of truck and pre-trip truck inspection Must obey all traffic laws. Must inform supervisor immediately of any damage to truck. Assist in other warehouse activities as requested such as driving forklift, ground maintenance, and other duties as needed.
