Job Description
Pacific Topsoils, headquarters in Everett WA, has served the region as the largest supplier of manufactured topsoil and landscaping materials in the Pacific Northwest. Our company philosophy emphasizes environmentally conscious recycling, and we are proud of the advancements we have made in the last 40 years allowing us to recycle 100% of the material we accept. Serving homeowners, property management firms, contractors, and government agencies since 1978, Pacific Topsoils is a leader in environmentally-conscious recycling—helping reduce our waste stream while delivering the best materials. We are looking for Full-Time experienced CDL Drivers for our Smith Island and Issaquah location. To drive gasoline or diesel powered solo, tractor-trailer combinations, and flatbed trailer to safely transport and deliver landscape materials from various production sites to homeowners, contractors, and numerous Pacific Topsoils, Inc. yards. Applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and roads in the area. Must be able to drive both automatic and manual trucks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Seeing that truck is properly loaded, and that quantity and type of material agrees with that shown on invoice. Climbing ladders to check loads and to tarp and untarp loads when necessary. Ensuring that cab guards, top rails of truck and trailer boxes, including tailgates, and trailer tongues are clean of any debris. Inspect truck for defects and safe operating condition before, during, and after each shift and submit a written report of any defects at end of shift. Adjust brakes before starting each shift. Apply knowledge of commercial driving skills in safely maneuvering vehicle at varying speeds in difficult situations, such as heavy traffic, bad weather, or in tight loading, unloading and off-road sites. Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures and comply with all federal, state, and local regulations for the safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle. Report all accidents involving driver or company equipment to supervisor immediately. Always represent the company in a professional and courteous manner. Drives truck to destination. Inspects truck for defects before and after trips and submits report indicating truck condition. Maintains driver log according to I.C. regulations. Assists workers in loading and unloading truck.QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Must meet or exceed medical standards of U.S. Department of Transportation. Must satisfactorily pass a drug test. Must be able to hook and unhook various commercial vehicle combinations in such a way that the equipment is always in a safe and secure mode. Must be able to check fuel, engine oil, and coolant levels and adjust brakes at start of each shift. : Must have ability to read and write and interpret maps and road signs. Must have working knowledge of vehicle safety and control systems.LANGUAGE SKILLS

: Must possess a valid commercial driver's license.WORK ENVIRONMENT
