Overview:
The CDL Truck Driver experience is required to serve our supply chain logistics department in a safe and timely manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Transporting finished goods and raw materials over land to and from manufacturing plants, retail, or distribution centers Inspecting vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance Planning routes and meeting delivery schedules Plan routes and meet delivery schedules Document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts Input proper information into Geotab and automated systems for each stage of the loading and unloading process when necessary Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions Collect and verify delivery instructions Report defects, accidents, or violations
Qualifications:
Proven work experience as a CDL Truck Driver Experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, Geotab) Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations No recent moving or driving violations Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc.) Willing to submit to background/drug checks and provide employment recommendations Valid CDL Valid Fed Med Card Education and/or Experience A High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Prior experience as a CDL Truck Driver is required Candidate should have at least 2 years of experience in a similar role. Language Skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents in English, and communicate those effectively. Bilingual skills are preferred, but not required. Professional communication is required. Mathematical Skills Ability to calculate figures and use basic math skills. Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should be able to work in a computer system, generating reports and metrics. Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
