Summary:
Drives truck with a capacity of more than 25 tons, to transport materials to and from specified destinations, by performing the following duties. $29.70 - $35.00 per hour
DOE Overtime Available:
Paid at time and a half

Full-Time Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned.) Actively participate in Seaport Steel's safety program Review load boards and verify scheduled deliveries and pickups Inspect truck and equipment prior to use Inspect materials to ensure accuracy with shipping documentation Determine load readiness and make adjustments for safety and compliance Properly secure loads for transport Deliver and pick up materials according to assigned routes Work efficiently and manage time effectively Maintain respectful and professional interactions with others Ensure accuracy and quality in all work; identify opportunities for improvement Complete tasks in a timely manner Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education/Experience CDL Class A driver's license and completed truck driving courses with a certificate of completion with at least six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Language Ability Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization. Math Ability Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as adding up shipping orders to ensure the load is at the legal weight. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Eroad™ software or the wiliness to learn.
