Production Associate Reports To:
Operations Manager Work Shift:
Monday-Friday (normally between 6:00 am and 2:30 pm with possible overtime). Position Overview The Driver / Production Associate is the face of Crooked Spoon Ice Cream on the road and at the door. You will be responsible for safely loading, transporting, and delivering our ultra-premium ice cream and various ingredients to grocery and retail accounts, specialty food stores, clients and vendors, and fellow Crooked Spoon locations across the greater Seattle area and beyond, including routes that may involve Washington State ferry crossings and trips to the Bellingham area. This position will also support operations on the Production floor when not driving. This role requires a professional, personable presence with customers and store operators, a clean driving record, and the physical ability and reliability to represent our brand every single delivery. You'll operate a 24-foot box truck with lift gate as well as a cargo van, handling product with care from the moment it leaves the freezer to the moment it arrives in the hands of our partners. Position Qualifications:
Loading and Delivery Safely load and unload product at the Poulsbo production facility and at each delivery stop Operate a 24-foot box truck with lift gate and a cargo delivery van on assigned routes Deliver ice cream products and various ingredients to grocery and retail accounts, specialty food stores, clients and vendors, and fellow Crooked Spoon locations Navigate routes throughout the greater Seattle metropolitan area, including ferry crossings and longer-distance regional routes Handle all frozen product with care to maintain cold chain integrity and product quality Ensure deliveries are completed on schedule and in accordance with customer instructions Customer & Account Relations Serve as a professional, friendly, and knowledgeable representative of Crooked Spoon Ice Cream at every stop Build positive relationships with store owners, operators, receiving staff, and buyers Communicate proactively with customers regarding delivery timing, product questions, or any issues that arise Represent the brand with the same care and enthusiasm we put into every pint Order Fulfillment & Inventory Review, pick, and fill sales orders accurately prior to each route departure Perform pre-delivery and post-delivery inventory checks to ensure order accuracy Document deliveries, obtain signatures, and maintain accurate delivery records Communicate inventory discrepancies, short shipments, or damaged product to the Operations Manager promptly Assist with periodic physical inventory counts at the facility as needed Production Assist in the cleaning and organization of all plant spaces to include production floor, warehouses, mechanical room, changing room, employee lounge, restrooms, walk-in freezer, walk-in coolers, loading docks and waste/Recycling disposal area. Assist in the preparation of equipment, ingredients, and packaging to create base mix and to produce final packaged product. Assist in the production of base mix and final product to include physical actions and monitoring activities in individual and team settings. Vehicle & Equipment Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections; report any maintenance needs immediately Maintain cleanliness and organization inside the truck and van at all times Operate lift gate safely and in compliance with company procedures Comply with all applicable traffic laws, DOT regulations, and company driving policies Adhere to all ferry boarding procedures and protocols when applicable Qualifications / Skills Clean driving record — required; MVR check will be performed prior to hire Valid Washington State driver's license; CDL not required for this role but a plus Comfortable operating a 24-foot box truck with lift gate and a cargo van Confident driving in dense urban environments (Seattle, surrounding metro) as well as on longer regional routes Experience with or willingness to drive Washington State ferry routes Physically able to lift, carry, and maneuver up to 50 lbs repeatedly throughout the shift Strong attention to detail for order accuracy and inventory documentation Personable, professional, and customer-service oriented — you enjoy interacting with people Reliable, punctual, and self-directed; able to manage a daily route with minimal supervision Basic math and documentation skills for order verification and delivery paperwork Ability to work in temperature-controlled (freezer/refrigerated) environments Education and/or Experience 1-3 years of professional driving, delivery, or route sales experience preferred Experience operating medium-duty trucks (24 ft or similar) preferred Experience in food, beverage, or consumer goods delivery a plus High school diploma or equivalent Background check and motor vehicle record (MVR) check required for all candidates
