Summary:
The Donation Pickup Driver plays a vital role in providing an extraordinary staff, donor, volunteer, and customer experience. This role is responsible for the successful pickup and safe transport of donated merchandise for processing and sale and is cross-trained to perform various tasks throughout the store.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Deliver legendary customer service to all donors by acting with a "donor comes first" attitude and making connections with our donors. Safely navigate, drive and maintain a box truck Safely operate forklift Communicate effectively with donors and staff Remain flexible and maintain a calm demeanor at all times Ensure daily adherence to all safety and security practices and procedures. Provide exceptional donor experience when receiving donated merchandise, while ensuring donated materials meet company guidelines Assist the store staff and managers while in the store Cover staff shortages in all stores as needed Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education/Experience:
Past box truck driving and warehouse experience required . Previous experience and/or skills must include: Demonstrated knowledge and experience driving box trucks and working within a warehouse or other customer facing business Solid application of interpersonal and communications skills, internally and externally, with both customers, donors and employees. Strong customer service skills Successful problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to rapidly changing conditions Must be physically able to lift 75 pounds on a regular basis Driver's license with clean driving record. Ability to safely operate store equipment such as, fork lifts, pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment A flexible schedule and ability to work Saturdays and overtime as needs of the business require.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Spend a majority of the work day standing, sitting and being physically active. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Ability to sit in vehicle or otherwise remain in a stationary position. Ability to move freely about the Store.
