Your Responsibilities:
Provide over-the-road training for new CDL-A drivers with less than six months of experience. Share a truck with the trainee throughout the training period. Offer refresher training for experienced drivers and remedial training for those on development plans.
Instruction Includes:
HOS compliance and regulations Load securement and trip planning In-cab computer and company-specific apps Defensive driving and safe backing Customer procedures and professional service skills DOT inspection and post-accident procedures Safe fueling and inclement weather operations Coupling/uncoupling trailers Document scanning and company policies
Supervisory Duties:
Provide complete, accurate, and timely documentation of student performance. Conduct weekly evaluations and report progress to the Training Department. Establish truck rules and expectations. Perform corrective coaching when needed.
What You Need:
3+ years of verifiable, accident-free Class A CMV experience in interstate commerce. Previous in-cab training experience preferred. Completion of a two-day ICI certification class. Commitment to continuous training via online and in-person events. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
