Job Overview As a Truck Driver Trainer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of professional drivers. You will be responsible for delivering comprehensive training programs that equip new drivers with the skills and knowledge they need to excel in their careers. Your expertise in commercial driving, combined with your passion for teaching, will inspire confidence and competence in your trainees as they navigate the roads. What you'll do Develop and implement engaging training programs focused on truck driving, air brake systems, tanker operations, and tractor-trailer handling. Conduct classroom sessions that cover essential topics such as safety regulations, vehicle inspections, and defensive driving techniques. Provide hands-on training in real-world scenarios to reinforce classroom learning and ensure practical application of skills. Evaluate trainee performance through assessments and provide constructive feedback to foster improvement and growth. Maintain accurate records of training progress and certifications for each trainee. Collaborate with management to identify areas for curriculum enhancement based on industry trends and regulatory changes. Mentor trainees throughout their learning journey, offering support and encouragement to boost their confidence. Basic qualifications Proven experience as a commercial driver with a valid Class A CDL (Commercial Driver's License). Strong knowledge of air brake systems, tanker operations, and tractor-trailer driving techniques. Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly to adult learners. Preferred qualifications Experience in adult education or teaching within a classroom setting. Previous roles in driver training or mentorship are highly desirable. Familiarity with current industry regulations and safety standards related to commercial driving.
