Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Harvest-CDL Hopper Bottom Driver, where you will play a vital role in transporting agricultural commodities efficiently and safely. This position offers the opportunity to operate specialized hopper bottom trailers, primarily focusing on local routes that allow you to be home daily. Your expertise in commercial truck driving, combined with your commitment to safety and customer service, will ensure timely deliveries while adhering to all federal and state regulations. Responsibilities Operate tractor-trailer combinations with hopper bottom trailers for transporting bulk agricultural products Safely load and unload cargo using manual handling techniques and equipment such as forklifts when necessary Navigate routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems to ensure timely deliveries within designated local or regional areas Comply with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, and hazardous materials regulations when applicable Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on trucks and trailers to maintain safety standards and vehicle condition Load and unload freight accurately, ensuring proper cargo handling for logistics cargo handling requirements Maintain detailed records of deliveries, mileage, fuel usage, and inspection reports in accordance with company policies Qualifications Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record Minimum age 25 years with minimum of 2 years verified driving experience Proven experience operating heavy trucks, specifically tractor-trailers with manual and/or automatic transmissions Knowledge of refrigerated trailers, flatbed, tanker, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, or similar equipment is a plus Familiarity with route driving, delivery driving, and over-the-road (OTR) driving routes for regional or local deliveries Strong understanding of FMCSA regulations, DOT regulations, and safety protocols related to truck driving and cargo handling Physical ability to perform manual handling tasks including load & unload activities including operation of manual tarp and hopper doors. Able to sweep hoppers between different commodities.
