Job Overview Join our team as a Class A Local Utility Driver and become the vital link that keeps our operations moving smoothly! In this energetic role, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks. Your expertise will ensure timely deliveries, proper load handling, and excellent customer service. Responsibilities Local truckload deliveries Truckload pickups up to 3 days per week in the Chicago area Preloading outbound trailers at nearby customer locations Washout and DOT inspection of trailers for OTR fleet Assist our LTL team with pickups and deliveries as needed Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure compliance with safety standards and vehicle maintenance needs. Follow established route schedules, traffic laws, and safety protocols to maintain punctuality and safety during deliveries. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate delivery times and resolve any issues promptly. Requirements Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record, 2 years of verifiable experience and NO disqualifying MVR events. Hazmat and tanker endorsements preferred, or the willingness to get them. Proven experience in truck driving, including route driving and delivery operations. Ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently. Experience with specialized vehicles such as refrigerated trailers and liftgates is preferred but can also be trained. Knowledge of freight handling procedures including load & unload processes using forklifts or manual methods. Familiarity with safety regulations related to commercial driving and vehicle operation. Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Physical ability to lift heavy loads and perform vehicle inspections as needed.

Pay:

$26.00 - $29.00 per hour
