JOB DESCRIPTION LOCAL DRIVER
Location :
Jackson, WI
DEPARTMENT
SHIPPING SUMMARY :
Local CDL A Semi-Truck Driver is responsible for operating one of our tractor-trailer combinations to transport and deliver freight within a local or regional area. Drivers return home daily and are expected to uphold company safety standards, timely deliveries, and courteous customer interactions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Safely operate a Class A commercial vehicle (semi-truck and trailer). Pick up and deliver loads to and from client and our customers. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections. Secure cargo in accordance with safety regulations. Maintain accurate driver logs and documentation (electronic or paper). Adhere to local, state, and federal driving laws and DOT regulations. Maintain communication with dispatch for updates and routing changes. Ensure timely and accurate deliveries with excellent customer service. Assist in general upkeep / maintenance of vehicles and trailer. Communicates customer feedback Other duties as assigned by supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and safely. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
  • Possess a valid CDL Class A license.
  • Safely operate a Class A commercial vehicle (semi-truck and trailer).
  • Clean MVR and ability to pass DOT drug and physical tests.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Secure cargo in accordance with client, and SQF regulations.
  • Maintain accurate driver logs and documentation (electronic or paper).
  • Adhere to local, state, and federal driving laws and DOT regulations.
  • Maintain communication with dispatch for updates and routing changes.
  • Ensure timely and accurate deliveries with excellent customer service.
  • Daily customer contact requiring courtesy, discretion, and sound judgment

  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs without assistance
  • Must be able to use close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and be able to adjust vision focus

  • All team members must wear the appropriate protective equipment to accommodate the protection needs of the present hazard.
  • Safety Glasses and steel toed safety shoesin the production and warehouse areas are required
  • Safety vests are required to be worn while driving
  • All team members are required to work on, or in proximity with, moving forklift trucks EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE
: The Driver position is required, as a minimum, to have a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL), current Medical Certification, as well as a High School Diploma or GED equivalent. The Operations Manager can determine whether education and training are "equivalent" based on his/her experience.
Pay:
$17.00 - $18.00 per hour
License/Certification:
CDL- A license (Preferred)
