Cattell, Inc. and Taranaki Trucking and Redi-Mix is seeking a qualified Class-A CDL holder in Madison, Wisconsin for a redi-mix driver position. The company will provide training to operate a front-discharge concrete mixer, which you will have the chance to operate in and around the Madison area. You can expect to work with the same pour crews on a day-to-day basis, which helps foster a sense of community and rapport as you go about your job activities. Our work is seasonal in nature, so you can expect to get between 1400 and 1500 hours between the end of April and end of November. Health benefits persist through the winter (non-working) months. We are a local company, so relocation outside of the Madison area should not be expected. Responsibilities Safely operate commercial vehicles including concrete mixer trucks, dump trucks, and other heavy equipment required for delivery and site support Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment, checking for mechanical issues and ensuring compliance with safety standards Maintain the upkeep and cleanliness of vehicles, especially as it pertains to washing out concrete chutes and drums on trucks Lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing ladders, and maneuvering around trucks to assist in cleaning and operation of vehicles Maintain detailed delivery logs, vehicle maintenance records, and safety documentation in accordance with company policies Communicate effectively with project managers and site personnel to coordinate delivery schedules and address any logistical challenges Skills and Requirements Valid Class A commercial drivers license with a clean driving record Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic maintenance checks on trucks and machinery Familiarity with safety protocols related to heavy equipment operation and transportation of construction materials Redi-mix driving experience strongly preferred Familiarity with construction and especially concrete paving strongly preferred
Pay:
$33.00 - $36.00 per hour
