Job Description
Overview We are seeking an experienced Driver/Warehouse Associate with a CDL Class B to join our fleet of delivery drivers. The candidate will drive a refrigerated straight truck hauling food to grocery stores multiple days per week. If needed the candidate will assist with warehouse duties and processing room activities. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts and other heavy equipment to efficiently move, load, and unload materials within our distribution center. This role requires attention to safety protocols and the ability to work collaboratively with warehouse staff to ensure smooth operations. Duties Operate a Class B refrigerated straight truck making deliveries to grocery customers. Exhibit strong customer service skills when unloading at customer locations, along with occasionally stocking product. Moving product from the receiving dock to the grocery store freezer and/or cooler with pallet jack equipment. Operate various types of forklifts to transport materials throughout the warehouse. Perform order picking tasks accurately and efficiently, ensuring that all items are prepared for shipping or storage. Load and unload trucks and containers, ensuring proper handling of goods to prevent damage. Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety regulations at all times. Assist in inventory management by utilizing the warehouse management system for tracking stock levels. Collaborate with warehouse supervisors and team members to optimize workflow and improve operational efficiency. Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure safe operation and report any maintenance needs promptly. Qualifications Class B CDL with air brake endorsement Previous experience as a Forklift Operator or in heavy equipment operation is preferred. Familiarity with shipping and receiving processes within a distribution center environment is highly desirable. Ability to perform heavy lifting as required up to 100lbs, with a focus on safety practices. Strong attention to detail, particularly in order picking and inventory management tasks. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Certification for operating forklifts is a plus but not mandatory; training will be provided for qualified candidates.
