Job Description
Job Overview Safely operate tractor-trailers, including flatbeds, on long-haul and regional routes while complying with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Navigate efficiently using GPS systems to plan optimal routes for timely deliveries across multiple locations. Load, secure, unload, and inspect freight cargo Handle manual tasks involved in truck loading/unloading processes This position has opportunities for a mix of Local and Over-The-Road (OTR) hauling. Applicants must be willing and able to do both as needed. Perform routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure safety standards are met; report any maintenance issues promptly. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and route details in accordance with FMCSA regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams for route updates or delivery instructions; adapt to route changes as needed. Requirements Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with endorsements relevant to the vehicle type (e.g., Hazmat, Tanker) preferred but not mandatory for all roles. Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving on over-the-road (OTR) routes or local deliveries. Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbed trucks, tanker trucks, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and other specialized vehicles. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, hazardous materials regulations, and safety procedures related to trucking operations. Ability to handle manual transmission vehicles and perform manual handling tasks safely during load & unload activities. Strong navigation skills utilizing GPS navigation systems for route planning and execution. Experience with logistics cargo handling tools such as forklifts or other loading equipment is a plus. Excellent driving record with a focus on safety; ability to operate tractor-trailers responsibly over long distances. Physical ability to perform truck loading/unloading tasks; capable of lifting when required.
