Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and dependable Rollback Operator to join our transportation and vehicle recovery team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating tow trucks and flatbed vehicles to recover, transport, and load various types of vehicles, including trucks, cars, and heavy-duty equipment. Your expertise in automotive diagnostics, mechanical troubleshooting, and cargo securement protocols will ensure efficient vehicle recovery operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where safety, customer service, and mechanical skills are paramount. Responsibilities Operate tow trucks, flatbeds, and other recovery vehicles with precision and adherence to safety standards. Perform basic mechanical vehicle repairs and troubleshooting to assess vehicle condition before recovery or transport. Secure vehicles properly using cargo securement protocols to prevent damage during transit. Conduct safe vehicle loading onto tow trucks, ensuring compliance with safety guidelines for manual transmission and vehicle mechanics. Assist with vehicle recovery towing, including roadside assistance for trucks and cars involved in accidents or breakdowns. Maintain detailed logs of all recoveries, loads, unloads, and inspections for operational transparency. Communicate effectively with customers, dispatchers, and emergency responders during recovery operations to ensure smooth coordination. Experience Proven experience in automotive diagnostics and minor mechanical repairs for trucks and cars. Hands-on experience with commercial truck driving, including operating flatbeds and tow trucks. Knowledge of cargo securement protocols, vehicle mechanics for truck drivers, and safe vehicle loading techniques. Familiarity with conflict management to handle challenging situations professionally. Prior experience with vehicle recovery towing, car towing, or roadside assistance is highly desirable. Ability to operate forklifts or similar equipment is a plus for load handling tasks. Strong driving record with valid commercial driver's license (CDL) preferred; experience with manual transmissions is beneficial.
