Job Description

Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Truck Driver and take charge of delivering freight efficiently and safely across various routes (local and in WV state). This role offers the opportunity to operate a variety of commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, and forklifts. You will be responsible for transporting goods over the road (OTR), ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards. Your expertise in logistics cargo handling, truck loading and unloading, and materials regulations will be essential to maintaining our high standards of service. Duties Safely operate commercial trucks with manual or automatic transmissions along designated OTR routes, including flatbeds, and specialized equipment such as dump trucks or forklift-equipped vehicles. Plan routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery schedules and ensure timely arrivals. Load and unload freight with precision, following proper manual handling techniques and safety protocols. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety, including checking load security, brake systems, lights, tires, and fluid levels. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery documentation, and inspection reports. Communicate effectively with our Production Supervisor and Office Staff regarding route changes, delivery updates, or safety concerns while adhering to all DOT regulations for safe driving practices. Qualifications Valid CDL A license with clean driving record; experience operating tractor-trailers preferred. Proven delivery driving experience with knowledge of route driving and logistics cargo handling. Familiarity with trailers, flatbeds, materials handling and forklifts, including teledynes. Ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently; forklift experience is required. Strong understanding of DOT regulations, communication standards, and safety procedures related to truck driving. Excellent manual handling skills for load & unload activities; physically capable of lifting some freight when necessary. Proficient in using GPS navigation systems for route planning and navigation accuracy. Capable of maintaining compliance with all safety standards while managing multiple deliveries across diverse routes.
