Job Description

Fuel and Lube Truck Driver Gantt's Excavating and Contracting, Inc. is seeking a dependable and safety-minded Fuel and Lube Truck Driver to service heavy construction equipment at jobsites throughout the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia and surrounding areas. This position is responsible for safely operating a fuel and lube truck, fueling and lubricating equipment, checking fluid levels, and helping keep our equipment ready for daily operation. The ideal candidate is organized, mechanically inclined, and comfortable working independently in an active construction environment. Responsibilities Safely operate a fuel and lube truck between the shop and active jobsites Fuel, grease, and lubricate heavy equipment, trucks, and other company vehicles Check engine oil, hydraulic fluid, coolant, DEF, and other fluid levels Inspect equipment for visible leaks, damage, or maintenance concerns Communicate needed repairs or service issues to the equipment operator and shop Maintain accurate records of fuel, fluids, mileage, and equipment serviced Load, secure, transport, and dispense fuel and lubricants safely Complete required pre-trip and post-trip inspections Keep the fuel and lube truck clean, stocked, organized, and in safe operating condition Follow all company safety procedures and applicable DOT and environmental regulations Properly respond to and report spills or other environmental concerns Assist the shop and field crews with other duties when needed Qualifications Valid CDL Class B or higher Tanker and HazMat endorsements required, or the ability to obtain them before operating the fuel truck Clean and acceptable driving record Previous experience operating a fuel and lube truck is preferred Experience with heavy construction equipment, diesel trucks, or preventive maintenance is strongly preferred Basic mechanical knowledge and the ability to recognize potential equipment problems Ability to complete service records accurately Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently Strong commitment to safety and environmental compliance Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and meet DOT requirements Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds Ability to climb on and off trucks and equipment throughout the workday Ability to bend, kneel, reach, and work on uneven terrain Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and jobsite conditions Schedule This is a full-time position. The schedule may include early mornings, overtime, and occasional weekends based on project and equipment needs.
