Haul Truck Driver Job Description Department:
Quarry Reports to:
Plant Manager Job Summary:
The Haul Truck Driver is primarily responsible for safely hauling and dumping aggregate materials to designated areas throughout the quarry.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Does not have any direct reports.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Drive a 40 and 100-ton off-road haul truck with a dump body over gravel haul roads. Perform a walk-around inspection at the beginning and end of each shift to ensure the truck is safe and running properly. Dump material in designated areas, such as dumps and the crusher hopper, to increase production and safety. Remove debris from haul road if necessary, to maintain maximum tire life. Clean the truck as needed for services and operations. Fuel the truck as required and at the end of each shift. Assist crusher operator in extraction of material from crusher if needed. Assist in general mine labor as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
High attention to detail. Good work attendance. Display good communication skills including the ability to understand and follow verbal and written direction and instructions. Learn a variety of work skills associated with maintenance and repair operations. Safely and efficiently use a variety of hand and power tools. Read, understand, and follow safety rules, regulations, and procedures. Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times. Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
Education and Experience:
High School diploma or GED.
Physical Requirements:
Physically fit to perform the job functions, including sitting, standing, squat, bending, lifting, and walking for long durations. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times. L. G.
