Job Description

Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Truck Driver and take charge of delivering freight across diverse routes with energy and professionalism! This role offers the opportunity to operate a variety of commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and specialized trucks like dump trucks and roll-off trucks. You will be responsible for ensuring safe, timely deliveries while adhering to all safety regulations and company policies. Duties Safely operate commercial trucks including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and refrigerated trailers on over-the-road (OTR) routes. Load and unload freight using manual handling techniques or equipment such as forklifts when necessary. Navigate efficiently using GPS systems to ensure timely deliveries across assigned routes. Transport hazardous materials (hazmat) and dangerous goods following all Hazardous Materials Regulations and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) guidelines. Ensure compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, including hours of service, vehicle inspections, and safety protocols. Load and unload cargo with precision, managing logistics cargo handling for various freight types including freight requiring special handling like tanker or flatbed loads. Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and reports; communicate effectively with dispatch regarding route status or issues. Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs to ensure truck safety and compliance. Adhere strictly to safety standards during truck loading/unloading operations and when handling hazardous or dangerous goods. Assist with route planning for efficiency while maintaining high standards of customer service during deliveries. Qualifications Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record. Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving on OTR routes. Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and other specialized vehicles is preferred. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT regulations, Hazardous Materials Regulations, and safety compliance standards. Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles confidently; experience with manual handling equipment like forklifts is a plus. Strong understanding of logistics cargo handling procedures for various freight types including hazardous materials and dangerous goods. Excellent navigation skills utilizing GPS navigation systems for route optimization. Physical ability to load/unload freight manually or with equipment; capable of lifting heavy items safely.
