Duties Install, calibrate, and repair traffic signal controllers, cabinets, sensors, and related electronic systems using hand tools and specialized diagnostic equipment. Conduct electrical diagnostics and troubleshoot issues within AC/DC electrical systems to identify faults accurately. Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and engineering troubleshooting documents to guide repairs and system upgrades. Utilize testing equipment such as oscilloscopes, voltmeters, ohmmeters, soldering irons, and electronic equipment testers to diagnose system malfunctions. Perform routine maintenance on traffic signal hardware and electronic systems to ensure optimal operation; replace defective components as needed. Document all repairs, inspections, and system modifications thoroughly using computer hardware and software tools. Communicate effectively with team members and customers to provide updates on work progress or system issues while ensuring excellent customer service. Qualifications Proven experience as a service technician or in a related field involving electrical diagnostics and electronic systems troubleshooting. Strong knowledge of electrical schematic reading, interpretation of electrical blueprints, and engineering troubleshooting principles. Hands-on experience with electrical soldering, schematic diagrams, schematics reading, and electronic equipment testing. Proficiency in using diagnostic tools such as oscilloscopes, voltmeters, ohmmeters, soldering irons, and other electronic testing devices. Familiarity with AC/DC electrical systems, electrical equipment repair techniques, computer networking basics related to traffic systems, and maintenance procedures. Ability to perform field service tasks independently while adhering to safety standards; excellent problem-solving skills are essential. Customer service orientation with clear communication skills; capable of explaining technical issues clearly to non-technical stakeholders. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; ability to work flexible hours including evenings or weekends if required.
