Temporary Position Summary:
The Parabolic Flight Operator (Parab Operator) is responsible for executing and managing aerial promotional activities during the UFL game between the Birmingham Stallions and Columbus Aviators. This role involves operating specialized equipment used for in-game entertainment, ensuring a safe, engaging, and seamless fan experience.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate and control parabolic flight or launch systems used for in-game promotions, giveaways, or halftime entertainment
  • Coordinate closely with event production staff, stadium operations, and safety personnel
  • Conduct pre-event equipment inspections and safety checks
  • Execute timed activations during game play, breaks, and halftime
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues quickly and efficiently
  • Ensure compliance with all stadium safety regulations and protocols
  • Assist with setup and teardown of equipment before and after the event
Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in live event operations, sports entertainment, or technical equipment handling preferred
  • Strong understanding of safety procedures in a live event environment
  • Ability to work under pressure and adhere to strict timing cues
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Comfortable working in a large stadium environment with crowds and noise
  • Must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Capability to lift and move equipment (up to 50 lbs)
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with launch systems, rigging, or mechanical devices
  • Background in sports production or stadium operations
  • Familiarity with UFL game-day operations
Compensation:
  • Competitive hourly rate (based on experience)
  • Event-day perks may include meals and parking
