JOB SUMMARY
ON
THE JOB TRAINING
for this position is available if you are mechanically inclined and can use hand tools. You will be responsible for overall maintenance of low pressure and high pressure cylinders to include fire extinguishers and compressed gas cylinders for customer use. Provide hydrostatic testing and other services in a safe, timely and accurate manner to ensure compliance with all local, state, and DOT regulations.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Examines cylinders for surface defects such as dents, cracks, rust, pitting and corrosion. Stages cylinders in designated work area for inspection testing and maintenance. Performs basic cylinder maintenance such as painting, labeling, and stamping cylinders. Remove and replace valves using machine and or wrenches. Weighs filled cylinders on the proper scale and records/verifies proper weight. Fill cylinders with compressed gas, liquid or dry chemical. Maintenance, repair and service of portable fire extinguishers. Maintain/repair components of fire extinguishers as necessary. Keep work area clean and organized. Ability to communicate effectively; both verbally and written and complete electronic invoicing using a company provided tablet. Complete required DOT paperwork for testing high and low pressure cylinders. Regular and punctual attendance. Have a strong work ethic and be able to work independently as well as working in a team.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum High School Diploma or GED Ability to hydro statically test high and low pressure cylinders (We will train) Must have and maintain a valid California Driver license and safe driving record. Have a working knowledge of
NFPA 10, DOT & CFR
requirements (We will train). Ability to perform standing work during prolonged periods; frequent bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, and lifting.
LICENSES
We will train and instruct you on how to obtain your State of California Fire Extinguisher Certificate of Registration EE License Type 1, 2, and 3 (Our training and instruction offers no guarantee of obtaining your License, you will have to meet the requirements of the State and pass the written examination).
Pay:
$17.00 - $25.00 per hour
