Transportation / Maritime / Logistics About the Role We are looking for an experienced Chassis Mechanic / Welder to join our team and support the maintenance and repair of chassis used in national and international shipping operations. This is a hands-on position for someone with strong MIG and Stick welding experience who understands trailer/chassis repair and enjoys working in a fast-paced transportation environment. What You'll Do Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on chassis and trailers. Troubleshoot and repair air brake/ABS systems, wheel ends, axles, and structural components . Repair or replace landing gear and other chassis components. Perform advanced MIG and Stick welding for structural repairs and parts assembly. Inspect chassis to ensure compliance with DOT regulations . Repair and inspect electrical systems. Disassemble, repair, and replace axles and brake systems. Assist with container repairs when needed. Operate a forklift safely. Use a handheld device to document work orders, inspections, and repairs. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Follow all company safety policies and procedures.

What We're Looking For Required Qualifications:

2+ years of welding experience working on chassis, trailers, or similar equipment. Advanced Stick and MIG welding skills. Strong knowledge of chassis/trailer maintenance and repair. Ability to read, write, and communicate in basic English. Ability to accurately process numerical and alphanumeric information. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work independently with limited supervision. Good problem-solving and decision-making skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Willingness to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays when needed. TWIC Card required or ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment. Physical Requirements This is an active, hands-on role that requires the ability to: Stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, crawl, climb, and reach. Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 30 lbs. Occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. Perform repetitive hand, wrist, and foot movements. Work safely around heavy equipment and machinery. Maintain the vision and coordination necessary to perform mechanical and welding work. Safety First Safety is a top priority.
