Position Overview Continuous Flow is looking for a dependable, professional Backflow Prevention Tester to join our growing water-quality and backflow testing business as an independent contractor. This is a flexible, part-time / supplemental-income opportunity designed for someone who wants to perform backflow tests around an existing work schedule. Testing volume may include weekday, evening, and weekend opportunities depending on customer needs and tester availability. We strongly prefer candidates who are already approved/certified to perform backflow testing in Georgia. However, for the right candidate with applicable plumbing experience, Continuous Flow is willing to pay for the required training and certification process. All backflow testing equipment and testing gauges required to perform assigned work will be provided by Continuous Flow. What You'll Do The Backflow Tester will primarily perform scheduled backflow prevention assembly tests at residential and commercial customer locations throughout our service area.

Responsibilities include:

Perform backflow prevention assembly testing in accordance with applicable state and local requirements. Accurately document test results and required customer/device information. Submit completed testing documentation promptly. Communicate professionally with homeowners, businesses, property managers, and Continuous Flow. Identify obvious failed devices or conditions requiring additional attention and report them to Continuous Flow. Maintain and properly care for company-provided testing equipment. Arrive at scheduled customer locations within the agreed-upon service window. Represent Continuous Flow professionally at all times. Follow applicable safety procedures and testing standards. This position is primarily focused on testing and inspection. Any repair or replacement work must be performed only when permitted and appropriately licensed or supervised. Candidate Requirements (Already-Certified Candidates): Preference will be given to candidates who: Are at least 18 years old. Are currently qualified/approved to perform backflow prevention testing in Georgia. Have practical plumbing, backflow, water-system, irrigation, facilities, or related field experience. Live in or near Newnan, Georgia , or can efficiently service the Newnan/Coweta County area. Have reliable personal transportation. Have a valid driver's license, clean driving record, and appropriate automobile insurance. Are dependable, professional, and comfortable working independently. Can use a smartphone for navigation, communication, photos, and test documentation. Are comfortable interacting directly with residential and commercial customers. For the right candidate, Continuous Flow may sponsor the training, examination, and initial certification expenses necessary to become qualified to perform backflow testing.

Candidates seeking company-sponsored certification must:

Be 18 years of age or older. Have at least six months of applicable plumbing experience or otherwise satisfy all applicable prerequisites for the certification program. Reside in or reasonably near Newnan, Georgia. Have reliable personal transportation and the ability to travel to customer locations. Successfully complete the required training, examination, certification, and/or approval process. Following certification, commit to remaining available to perform an agreed volume of work each month for Continuous Flow, with a target of at least 50 completed backflow tests per month for 12 consecutive month period, subject to the terms of the contractor agreement. Be willing to sign a non-compete Independent Contractor Relationship This opportunity is structured as a 1099 independent contractor position, not a W-2 employment position. The contractor will generally have flexibility in determining when they are available to accept testing assignments. Available work may vary based on season, geography, customer demand, and contractor availability. Compensation and assignment procedures will be established in the Independent Contractor Agreement. The contractor is responsible for reliable transportation to and from customer locations and normal personal expenses associated with operating their vehicle unless otherwise agreed in writing. Responsibilities Conduct backflow testing on residential, commercial, and industrial water systems following local building codes and industry standards Install, repair, and maintain backflow prevention devices with precision and attention to detail Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and plumbing inspection cameras to accurately diagnose system issues Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and plumbing system maintenance tools to complete tasks efficiently Perform drain cleaning, plumbing inspection camera work, heavy lifting, assembly, remodeling, and other plumbing-related duties as needed Operate company vehicles safely while adhering to all traffic laws and safety protocols Provide excellent customer service by explaining work performed, answering questions, and ensuring client satisfaction during each project Experience Construction site experience with a strong understanding of construction plumbing and remodeling projects Proficiency in plumbing inspection cameras, blueprint reading, interpreting technical drawings, and mechanical knowledge Hands-on experience with plumbing system maintenance and repair in residential or commercial settings Familiarity with local building codes related to backflow prevention and plumbing systems Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment effectively Prior experience with drain cleaning techniques and the use of plumbing inspection cameras is highly desirable Strong basic math skills for measurements and calculations necessary during installation or repairs Join us if you're passionate about ensuring water safety through skilled backflow testing!
