Job Description

Description In this position, you will be responsible for all in-house Ford prototype builds, and testing for Axle systems. All builds and testing for new axle systems within Ford occurs at the Ford Automatic Transmission New Product Center (ATNPC), as well as outside testing vendor in the local SE Michigan area. You will be responsible for leading the build events, coordinating all component timing, placing orders for parts, and working directly with the shop personnel for build timing. In addition, you will be responsible for tracking post-test teardown progress for engineering sign-off.
OBJECTIVES
  • Responsible for all in-house Ford prototype builds for Axle systems
  • Develop project plans for upcoming build events: Quantities, complexity, timing charts
  • Order parts through the Ford GPIRS system per the agreed plan
  • Work directly with Design and Release engineers and the supply base to coordinate timing of builds and build sign-offs for completion
  • Manage issue resolution, assign champions to open items, and track to completion
  • Support "Testing priorities" meeting to understand the test completion process.
  • Take lead on organizing post-test parts for teardown review, and track the engineer's sign-off to completion.   • Project Management experience required
  • Microsoft Excel, Project & Powerpoint skills
  • Experience with mechanical components, testing of parts, and build processes
  • Written and Verbal Communication Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or in a relevant discipline Experience Level Intermediate Level Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Livonia, MI.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $43.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
