Abou t th e Oppor tunit y As a 2 nd Class Dismantler at My Auto Store , you 'll play a key role in our dail y ope ra t ions at our J Building s ite . In this role, you'll primarily be responsible for systematically dissembling vehicles to recover usable components and materials. This position demands a meticulous ap proach to extracting parts while adhering to safety and environmental standards. Key Responsibilities Drain fluids including oil, coolant, transmission fluid, and brake fluid from vehicles in compliance with environmental regulations and safety procedures. Inspect removed components for quality, damage, or wear, identifying parts suitable for resale, refurbishment, or recycling. Maintain and clean tools and equipment used in dismantling operations, reporting any defects or malfunctions to supervisors. Adhere to all safety regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), to minimize the risk of accidents or injuries. Qualifications Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and cutting equipment. Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to understand vehicle systems and components. High school diploma or GED equivalent . Preferred Qualifications - if applicable Previous experience in automotive repair, dismantling, or salvage operations preferred. Training or certification in automotive mechanics, auto body repair, or similar discipline preferred. This is a Union position.
