RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Small Engine Maintenance Instructor to teach a short course focused on preparing small engines for winter/spring storage. This course is designed for homeowners, hobbyists, and seasonal equipment users who want to prolong the life of their small engines by learning best practices for off-season care.

Some duties include:

• Develop and deliver engaging, hands-on lessons
• Demonstrate proper maintenance and safety techniques
• Provide students with checklists, maintenance schedules, and winter prep guides
• Answer questions and support diverse learning styles
• Ensure a safe, inclusive, and interactive learning environment
• Be willing to offer the course in the fall & spring

Qualifications:

5 years proven experience working with small engines (repair, maintenance, or instruction) Strong knowledge of seasonal maintenance practices Prior teaching or public speaking experience preferred Ability to communicate clearly with both novice and experienced learners Certifications (e.g., OPE, STIHL, Briggs & Stratton) are a plus but not required Must be fingerprinted
