You will utilize your mechanical expertise to diagnose, repair, and upgrade complex railcar components, ensuring all work meets rigorous industry safety and quality standards. Responsibilities Perform structural repairs, modifications, and component upgrades to maintain fleet reliability. Execute precise welding, fabrication, and cutting tasks to restore car integrity. Diagnose mechanical issues by interpreting blueprints and utilizing advanced diagnostic tools. Rebuild and install critical subassemblies, including bolsters, side frames, and braking systems. Operate heavy machinery, including forklifts, to safely position and align heavy components. Maintain pneumatic systems, including measuring, cutting, and threading air lines. Document all maintenance activities and repair data accurately within our electronic tracking system. Uphold a high standard of safety and cleanliness to ensure an injury-free work environment. Required Skills Proven experience in heavy equipment maintenance or mechanical repair. Proficiency in welding, cutting torches, and metal fabrication techniques.
