Overview We are seeking a motivated and skilled Mechanic II with Inspection expertise to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of Police Department vehicles. Maintains Public Works and Administration vehicles when necessary; and oversees general maintenance of the Township fleet.

•Must have own tools to perform routine maintenance on Township owned vehicles. The Township does supply some specialty tools Duties Operates a variety of diagnostic tools/instruments and a variety of hand, electric and air-driven tools to trouble shoot mechanical and electrical issues Tests, services, and repairs of vehicles and mechanical equipment Inspects, adjusts, and replaces necessary units and related parts in the performance of repair and maintenance work Repairs brake, engine, electrical, fuel, hydraulic, transmission, ignition, air, exhaust, axle assemblies, communication equipment, emergency equipment, and related systems Cuts and welds metal and performs body repair, touch up and related work Changes and repairs tires and tubes Performs periodic routine and scheduled maintenance Updates mileage, inventory and preventative maintenance records PA State Inspection Maintain vehicle cost tracking via hours, material, and outside services Snow removal Assists in various Highway work as required Must be available to work scheduled and emergency overtime as needed Other tasks as assigned Qualifications Two years in vehicle or equipment repair Must possess a valid Pennsylvania Class 1 State Inspection License Must possess valid PA Driver's License - CDL, Class B and air brake endorsement and with tank endorsement Thorough knowledge of automotive mechanics Considerable knowledge of gas and diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, pumps and valves, generators, repairs as pertaining to trucks with a GVW > 26,000 #, and welding Considerable knowledge of price trends and grades or quality of materials and equipment Working knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions common to municipal maintenance and repair activities Working knowledge of the practices, methods, materials and tools used in modern equipment maintenance Skill in operation of listed tools and equipment Ability to establish and maintain effective preventative maintenance programs, policies and procedures Ability to carry out assigned projects to their completion Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, vendors and the public Ability to track vehicle costs via hours, material, and outside vendors Education High School graduate/GED equivalent or Automotive Trade School Work Enviornment The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Pay:

$36.28 per hour Expected hours: 33.32 - 41.65 per week
