Job Description
National Riding Stables Horse Rescue - Gettysburg, PA Job Description National Riding Stables Horse Rescue is a 501c3 non-profit corporation, whose mission is to save distressed horses from abuse, neglect, and slaughter. As part of the means of accomplishing this mission, we provide guided horseback tours of Gettysburg National Military Park. We are looking for people who love horses, have experience in horse care, are people-friendly, work well with others, and like working outdoors. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following: (other duties may be assigned as necessary) Daily care of the horses, including feeding, inspection, cleaning, brushing, hoof picking, moving horses from pasture or feed lot to corrals or barn, assisting veterinarians and farriers in their care of the horses, and saddling and tacking horses for use by customers, guides and wranglers. Cleaning of barns, stalls and paddocks, cleaning and repairing of tack and equipment, and opening and closing the barn and associated facilities. Meeting and greeting customers, teaching customers the basics of horsemanship, helping customers mount and dismount, and accompanying the customers on rides (often on foot) to ensure their safety and enjoyment. Qualifications MUST be 18 Horse experience
