Job Description
Hiring for an Engineering Technician in East Hartford! Job Description This position provides technical and administrative support to the NDE engineering team to facilitate the processing and delivery of inspection tools, the analysis of NDE data, and the tracking of inspector assignments and progress. You will coordinate inspection assignments, track the progress of inspector results, request quotes from vendors, monitor progress to meet schedule requirements, and verify that requirements are met upon delivery. The role involves technical and inventory activities under the direction of NDE Engineers to support commercial and military engines. This position requires the ability to prepare parts for FPI, clean parts post-inspection, package parts, and prepare inspection documentation. Proctoring and travel account for 20-30% of the job, qualifying inspector locations. Responsibilities Provide technical and administrative support to the NDE engineering team. Essential Skills Associate Degree or Bachelor of Technology, ET preferred. Proficient in Excel. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational skills. Experience in establishing NDT and general quality systems and NDT methods. Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing operations. Ability to work independently. Proven ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management, internal and external customers. Knowledge and experience with root cause and process control tools. Experience with SAP and Microsoft Suite. Additional Skills & Qualifications Electronics, Electrical, Test equipment, and Blueprint skills. Experience in Aerospace manufacturing operations. Work Environment This role is based onsite at the East Hartford campus. The group is dynamic, with constantly changing priorities. Working with this team offers the opportunity to be at the forefront of fixing flight safety problems and driving cutting-edge advances in the aerospace industry. There are flexible start and stop times as long as core hours are fulfilled. During the contract period, there is 5 days of PTO per year and 6 paid holidays. Overtime is available at 1.5X pay for all hours over 40 worked per week. The environment is structured, process-driven, and offers a chance to go permanent, with excellent benefits available if transitioned. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of East Hartford, CT. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $32.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
