In this role, you will operate large motor coaches, ensuring passenger safety and comfort while navigating city streets and highway routes. Your expertise in vehicle operation, adherence to traffic laws, and exceptional customer service will help us provide top-quality transportation services for various groups, including school districts, community organizations, and corporate clients. Responsibilities Safely operate motor coaches on scheduled routes, adhering to all traffic laws and transportation safety regulations. Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure mechanical integrity and compliance with safety standards. Navigate city streets and highways efficiently, utilizing knowledge of local traffic patterns and road conditions. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and passengers using two-way radios for driver communication. Assist passengers with boarding, alighting, and special needs accommodations to ensure passenger safety and comfort. Maintain accurate logs of trips, vehicle inspections, and any incidents or delays during service. Follow all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, state transportation laws, and safety procedures related to commercial driving and vehicle operation. Requirements Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements such as air brake certification. Proven experience in bus driving, motor coach operation, or similar commercial driving roles. Strong mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems for routine maintenance checks. Knowledge of traffic laws, defensive driving techniques, and transportation safety regulations. Experience with city street navigation and handling adverse weather conditions while driving. Excellent communication skills in English for effective interaction with passengers and team members. Ability to perform vehicle inspections diligently and respond promptly to maintenance needs. Prior experience with paratransit services or passenger assistance is a plus but not required.
